Ok so my mom has been a quilter for many years but lately she has gone crazy, she has done quilts for all the family, babies, kids, and just for fun so this year for the annual Spanish Fork Fiesta Days quilt show she entered a few and won veiwer's choice she was so excited and was so happy to tell the ladies that quilted this quilt.
Here's the back story for the blue and yellow quilt. The cross-stitch blocks were completed by my Grandma Carol Thomas for me. Grandma made a quilt for all the grand-girls as they were marrying age. Grandma finished the blocks but pasted away from cancer in October of 2006 before she could get the quilt finished. My Mom knew that she had them and when I got engaged last summer, Mom scurried right down to Grandma's to find them. She spent many late nights working on getting the quilt pieced for it to be ready to display in my trousseau. My Dad, Mr. Math, figured out how to piece it on the diagonal, which made the prettiest pattern. Then Mom begged and begged a quilters group in Spanish Fork to hand quilt it, just like Grandma would have had it done. The ladies worked their fingers to the bone to have it done in time. We all love the quilt, especially me, because it has a little of Grandma and Mom in it.

Your mom is so amazing! She has such a talent when it comes to sewing, or any sort of craft. I love the grandma/mom quilt. I never let my kids touch the quilts Grandma made for me. Too many memories to get dirty, sticky hands all over it. Tell your mom congrats for me!
